en Don't be fooled into thinking that this or any of the other text to speech extensions are free just because you can download them. In order for them to function in high quality you will need to subscribe and download the voices from other providers such as MS, Google, Amazon, etc. And those subscriptions are outrageous for the common person. Unless you are a professional, in college, or your job provides the service extensions and software like this is useless and not worth that kind of expense. Even when in college, a sizable portion of your available funds will be swallowed up by the subscription rates just to access the forces. Having said that; I was never able to get the extension to work properly except for the most basic of MacOS voices. There are the Piper voices which sound quite good, but downloading them is useless. They do not function after download nor show up in the options panel. If you restart your browser, they show as never having been downloaded at all. This is despite providing all permissions imaginable for the extension. The extension just will not retain the downloaded Piper voices. Perhaps if you can spare a few hundred a month for to pay high subscription rates for Amazon, Google, MS etc., and experiment which I am not, this is a dead end. However, you do not need a browser extension such as this or any other to use the available Mac OS voices anyway. They play just about anywhere, and no they are not nearly as high quality as those available elsewhere but they will do in a pinch. Why after all these years Apple has not moved forward in their development is beyond me considering the expense of their machines... So, this extension or any like it would only be a redundancy taking up valuable memory in your browser.

es Súper funcional para escuchar libros grandes en PDF puedes seleccionar por partes o leerlos completos, la voz es amigable y no está en castellano completamente sino que tiene un acento en español más neutro, además es gratis. Recomiendo mucho para personas con TDAH.

en I like this when it works, but it frequently stops working entirely. No idea why it isn't working right now.

en It works, I guess. It should be way easier to change the reading speed. Instead of a font resizer in the UI (which chrome already has a built-in function with Ctrl++ or Ctrl+-, or Ctrl+scrollwheeling up or down) there should be an option to quickly adjust the reading speed, since you might want some more simple texts to go faster and some more complex ones to go slower.
