What is Gmail-OWA?

Gmail-OWA is a useful tool meant for individuals who prefer Outlook over Gmail but use Google Classroom, which typically embeds its email links with Gmail. Once enabled, it converts Gmail links so they open in Outlook Web Access. It can be toggled on and off to revert to Gmail links when required. If you use Outlook Desktop App or other email programs, consider using Gmail Link Fixer which creates standard email links out of Gmail-specific ones.

Using Google Classroom but using Outlook instead of Gmail?

With this extension enabled, Gmail links in Google Classroom will open in Outlook Web Access instead. Clicking on the extension icon will toggle it on and off so you can still open Gmail links in Gmail if desired.
