HashDetectMalware est une extension Firefox de sécurité qui surveille les téléchargements et calcule automatiquement le hash SHA-256 des fichiers téléchargés.

L’objectif est de vérifier rapidement si un fichier est reconnu comme malveillant, sans envoyer le fichier complet vers un serveur antivirus. L’extension calcule l’empreinte localement, puis interroge une API de réputation par hash afin d’obtenir un verdict simple et exploitable.

Fonctionnalités principales :

détection automatique des téléchargements terminés ;
calcul local du hash SHA-256 ;
interrogation d’une API de réputation malware ;
affichage d’une notification selon le résultat ;
limite de taille pour éviter une surcharge mémoire ;
approche légère sans upload complet du fichier.

Le module est pensé comme une brique expérimentale de cybersécurité orientée détection par réputation de hash. Il ne remplace pas un antivirus complet, mais permet d’identifier des fichiers déjà connus dans une base de réputation malware.
