Features & Capabilities

Grasshopper is an advanced tab manager designed to enhance your browsing experience by complementing or replacing the traditional tab bar. It features vertical tabs that can be accessed as a popup or a sidebar, providing real-time tab updates with powerful filtering options by title, URL, or media type. Users can pin, mute, close, and move tabs between windows, as well as re-open recently closed tabs and manage audio-playing tabs quickly.

Beyond tab management, Grasshopper integrates browser History and Bookmarks (with optional permissions) to streamline access and organization. It supports customizing interface colors and themes, adding tags and notes to tabs, and even basic container and session support. Additionally, users can leverage keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures, and regex filtering for efficient control. Although currently designed for browsers supporting sidebar APIs, Grasshopper does not have a Chrome version due to API limitations. Overall, Grasshopper offers a comprehensive, customizable solution for managing browser tabs and related data effectively.

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
