User Reviews

Users generally find this app effective for basic text encoding conversion tasks, with some praising its simplicity and usefulness in specific cases. However, multiple users report significant issues, including app crashes on recent Android versions, inability to select files or folders, and poor user interface design. The app also has limitations in supported encodings and faces permission-related visibility problems on Android 12, which affect its overall usability and reliability.
Pros
  • App performs the basic function of converting text encodings as promised.
  • Simple and effective for users who understand the usage.
  • Useful for converting specific encodings, such as ANSI to UTF-8, and enables viewing Greek characters correctly.
  • Can save time in a pinch when other devices or software are unavailable.
Cons
  • App crashes unexpectedly on newer Android versions (e.g., Android 14).
  • Cannot select files or folders properly, limiting usability.
  • User interface is unfriendly, with poorly organized folder listings and lack of multiple file selection.
  • Limited range of supported encodings, reducing flexibility.
  • File visibility issues on Android 12, likely due to permission problems.

I think some reviews are little too harsh. The UI is functional (although I would prefer if it showed the folders of internal storage in alphabetical order, instead of what appears to be a random order, but that is a minor nitpick); the app does what it promises. I was able to convert an ANSI-encoded file into UFS-8 with no issues. Edit: it appears that on Android 12 the files are no longer visible from the app. Perhaps some read permission issue? As it stands, the app is broken, unfortunately
