User reviews

Strava Auto Kudos is praised for automating the process of giving kudos, enhancing engagement on Strava, and being easy to use with regular updates. However, multiple users report bugs where the extension tries to kudo their own activities, causing annoying pop-ups, and that it stopped working correctly after recent Chrome updates. Users also desire a default pause function to prevent excessive kudos and express concerns about giving kudos to non-followed users unexpectedly. Overall, while highly beneficial, the extension needs fixes and more control features.
Pros
  • Automates giving kudos on Strava, saving users time and effort.
  • Enhances the Strava experience by fostering a supportive and engaging community.
  • User-friendly and easy to set up and use.
  • Regularly updated to keep up with Strava changes.
  • Customizable settings that allow tailoring kudos-giving preferences.
Cons
  • Extension sometimes attempts to give kudos to the user's own activities, causing multiple disruptive pop-ups.
  • Stopped working properly after recent Chrome updates; automated kudos and manual thumbs-up button malfunction.
  • Lacks a feature to pause the extension by default, which can lead to accidental excessive kudos when viewing profiles.
  • By default, may give kudos to activities of people not followed, potentially causing unwanted notifications.

I am still experiencing the previously known bug where the extension will attempt to give kudos to one's own activities - causing multiple pop-ups that disrupt navigation on the Strava feed. Supposedly this bug ought to be fixed in the lastest version, but I am still seeing this issue I'm afraid. Hopefully this can be fixed soon. Other than that, great extension!

I appreciate the function, this just needs the ability to set it to paused by default. Too many times I'll click on a strangers profile who gave me kudos, and I like 20 of their rides lol.

First of all, thanks for creating such a useful plugin! It really enhances the Strava experience. I noticed a small issue when using Strava Auto Kudos: When one of my own activities appears in the feed, the plugin attempts to give it a kudo, which triggers a pop-up. Since users can't kudo their own activities, this feels unnecessary and slightly disrupts the experience. Would it be possible to add a check to prevent the plugin from trying to kudo self-activities? I think this would improve the overall functionality. Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work!
