Summary
Twitter still hasn't released a machine learning based sports filter, so I went ahead and did it. SportsPurge is continually updated and retrained with new data.
Beware - the models are not perfect, and there will be a few false positives. But hey, it's worth it to never see anyone rambling about field goals in your Twitter stream again, right?
