Give BrowseGPT instructions like "Find a place to stay in Seattle on February 22nd" or "buy a children's book on Amazon", and it will use artificial intelligence to attempt to complete the task for you. BrowseGPT uses OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini model to process web pages and issue commands like CLICK, ENTER_TEXT or NAVIGATE.
Is it useful? Sort of... sometimes it will get stuck in a loop, click on the wrong thing, or navigate to a URL that 404s. It provides a reason for every decision it makes so you can help it correct course if necessary.
⚠️ This is an experimental extension and should be used with caution. Don't use this on pages with private information, or pages where taking the wrong action could cause a serious problem. ⚠️

Doesn't work with youtube. Asks to use it on google.com... really? Why would anyone need an AI on google.com?
You almost got something very interesting, Close to a potential AI agent. Maybe if we could use more than just chatgpt, like the other ai models too? Perhaps anthropics claude could work if thats a possibility. I don't know, But this seems like it could have huge potential. Keep working on it please.
On a side note, obviously there are privacy concerns and such- as with most extensions.
And it really struggles to do things right now (like clicking certain text boxes and entering text) (or navigating sites, clicking stuff is a big problem) but I haven't seen another extension like this one, would be cool to see more like it.
Excellent browser extension! Useful and convenient, especially if you need help with creating texts. The highlighting and annotation features on web pages add interactivity to content viewing. Overall, a good user experience, but there are some opportunities for improvement.
