User Reviews

Users praise the National Park Service app for its easy navigation, comprehensive and up-to-date park information, and real-time trail navigation, plus the ability to download offline maps for remote parks. These features make trip planning and on-site exploration easier and more organized. The main recurring issue is that the offline data download can fail or remain queued, which undermines offline usability for remote hikes. Overall, it's a valuable planning and navigation tool with reliable information and room for fixes to offline reliability and GPS-related map enhancements.
Pros
  • Easy to navigate and user-friendly interface
  • Up-to-date park information, including hours, reservations, and trail access
  • Real-time trail navigation and park mapping features
  • Offline maps/data download for remote parks
Cons
  • Offline data download can get stuck in 'queued' state and fail to complete (reported by users)

This is great! Everything I ever wanted in an NPS app. I'd been asking for this for years. What more could you want? Trails, maps, weather, activities, everything right at your finger tips.

NPS app does not show accurate view point details or map. At Sequoia, Bus service is very poor. Bus does come at time or frequently, hundreds of people are stuck at the bus station. Zero management skills. Idiot rangers and drivers.
