The Missouri Department of Public Safety Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control provides this supplemental app to help aid with alcohol and tobacco sales compliance. The app includes built-in scanning functionality using the camera feature on the device so that you can quickly determine age and validity of an ID. This app is not a replacement for reasonable and necessary steps that may be needed to determine the age or identity of a person.

No personal information of the customer is stored on the device.

Pros

Easy to use and a time saver in bar settings.
Can detect fake IDs effectively.
Helpful tool for checking IDs at events serving alcohol.

Cons

Inaccurate results with false positives for real IDs.
App crashes or malfunctions when scanning IDs.
Issues with newer ID formats being flagged incorrectly.

Works fairly well. The problem any good fake will beat it. It really only works on bad fake IDs.

It does work, It will flag 80% of fakes. Over the past 6 months, I know for a fact that no less than three entries I have scanned to test have been fake ID's, but this system clears them through even the barcode scanner. Good tool to have, but not reliable without prior knowledge of how to properly check ID's.
