Forint App

The Forint App offers a unique blend of practicality and innovation by allowing users to validate Hungarian Forint banknotes' authenticity and experience augmented reality related to banknote artwork. Through capturing images of the banknote front, the app guides users to accurately position their device, automatically capturing and analyzing the image to provide authenticity feedback. Additionally, by focusing on the back of the banknotes, the app launches an immersive augmented reality experience, complemented by era-specific background music, enhancing engagement with the rich history depicted.

Developed in cooperation with the Hungarian National Bank (MNB), the Forint App supports multiple languages including Hungarian, English, and Simplified Chinese, and is compatible with a wide range of smartphones. Though it provides valuable assistance in banknote validation, it is not a substitute for professional verification. For best results and doubts, users are advised to consult official institutions. The app seamlessly combines currency authentication with cultural enrichment, making it a valuable tool for both everyday users and enthusiasts.
