GitHub Privacy Firefox

GitHub Privacy

GitHub Timestamp Privacy redacts timestamps such as commit dates on GitHub. The precision of timestamps is reduced according to your preference. Click on individual timestamps to reveal more precision if needed.

Features & Capabilities

GitHub Privacy redacts dates on GitHub. You can choose the level of redaction. Data privacy and protection has become a big issue nowadays. Not everyone is confident in sharing their data and not every data shown is necessary for others.

This extension enables the user to find out how detailed they need to see information regarding timestamps on GitHub. Is it really necessary to see dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss or would it be sufficient to see dd/mm/yy or even mm/yy for commits and issues.

Timestamps shown on GitHub can be changed by this extension. Via the settings you can decide on the level of granularity by only changing the seconds, minutes, hour or month.

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

GitHub Privacy requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
