2024-05-11 | VIHAAN BANDARI | en | It pops up on my screen, but it's asking for an assignment code. WHat does this mean, Newsela? My teacher never told me this. And also, how do you use this outside of Newsela?
2024-04-01 | MALICK HAMENOU | en | it works perfectly and i love it so much it reconginze my classes and i download the app
2024-03-13 | Grant Edick | en | Admittedly, I do not use NewsELA articles all that often and therefore, I was apprehensive when they announced EverWrite. Yet, I cannot recommend this product enough. While at first it needed some improvements, the EverWrite team quickly improved the system by adding long form support and the ability to bring your own question. Likewise, the fact that it doesn't create or generate any text is a huge relief, allowing me to utilize AI in the classroom without worrying about whether or not students are actually doing the work themselves (it has also allowed for meaningful and realistic conversations about proper use of AI in the classroom/outside world). Through multiple writing assignments, students have asked for and utilized the feedback provided by EverWrite, ultimately producing better submissions. I am excited to see continued improvements/additions and will continue to use EverWrite in my classroom.
2024-03-09 | Kelli Zicha | en | As a certified reading specialist and middle school writing teacher, I love EverWrite as a tool for my students to utilize in the classroom. Not only does the tool allow children to receive immediate feedback on their writing, but it also gives them a note of confidence in their abilities as writers and motivates them to move forward. EverWrite allows children to see their strengths in skills, such as supporting ideas in writing with textual evidence, analysis, and reasoning, which are all areas of focus in our sixth grade classroom. The 'learn more' feature allows children to delve further into understanding areas for necessary improvement in their writing. I look forward to implementing EverWrite as a supportive tool to assist children in revising and editing their future writing assignments before final submission for teacher feedback and grading.
2024-03-09 | Maya Sissoko | en | I am a learning specialist who works on writing support and enrichment with elementary and middle school children. Regardless of the child, so far they all love the program. They love receiving immediate feedback, which makes them more motivated to revise using EverWrite's highlights and sentence labeling, which demonstrates when they have fulfilled the requirements. The short explanations, examples, and videos that EverWrite provides make it easy for teachers to explain and discuss the important elements necessary for completing their assignments, and my students have found the explanations helpful and clear. What's also great is that teachers and students can bring their prompts or the program will generate prompts based on a specific topic or book. My students also love the little robot icon, which can be turned off easily when needed. The team at EverWrite has been open to feedback and I've even taken the opportunity to have my students practice self-reflective and review writing by writing to the creators about their experience using EverWrite. Every student has asked to use the program again, and some have even asked to bring other writing pieces from other classes so that they can see how EverWrite rates and analyzes them, to improve if possible. I highly recommend giving EverWrite a try.
2024-03-06 | Rosario Cristina GARAY LOPEZ | es | No me permite ejecutar se queda en una ventana con el mensaje "Loggin in", luego cambia a "It's going to be all write".
2024-03-06 | Mr. Alexander | en | Disappointing because so many of the teachers I work with as a tech coach love Newsela's articles. This is buggy, messes up other extensions like Grammarly and Brisk, and it froze up one of our MS teachers' chromebooks. If you're looking for something similar, I would check out brisk it or grammarly. Two stars because I hope they can fix the issues! I'll come back and update.
2024-03-05 | Emily Rehmert | en | I really want to give this a shot, but it makes my docs freeze everytime I open them. I've had to disable it for now.
