Color: Water Sort Puzzle

Color is a water sort puzzle with the noise turned down.

Tap a tube to lift its liquid. Tap another to pour it. Liquid only pours onto its own colour, or into an empty tube. Get every tube down to a single colour and the level is done.

That is the whole game. No timer, no lives, no energy meter, no waiting for something to refill.

EVERY LEVEL CAN BE SOLVED

This matters more than it sounds. Water sort levels are usually generated at random and checked loosely, so sooner or later you get one that simply cannot be finished — and you have no way of knowing, so it just feels like you are bad at it.

This game builds every level backwards from its finished state, which makes an impossible level impossible to produce. A solver then checks hundreds of levels across the whole difficulty curve on every single build. If you are stuck, it is because there is a solution you have not found yet.

BUILT FOR EVERY PAIR OF EYES

Around one man in twelve has some colour vision deficiency, and "are these two the same colour?" is the entire game. So the twelve liquid colours were not chosen by eye — they were fitted by measuring how far apart they stay under simulated protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, and adjusting until the closest pair was comfortably distinct.

If you would still rather have shapes, turn on Shape Markers in settings and every colour gets its own symbol.
