Block Puzzle: Daily Board

Drop blocks onto an eight by eight board and fill a whole row or column to clear it. No timer, no lives, nothing to lose but room. The game ends when nothing in the tray fits anywhere, which is a thing you can see coming three moves out if you are paying attention.

Drag a piece where you want it. On a phone the piece floats above your finger so your thumb is not covering the very thing you are aiming, the target cells light up only when the drop is legal, and the piece snaps to them so what you see is exactly what lands. Tap to place works too.

The tray refills only when all three pieces are gone, so a good turn is three moves planned together rather than one move taken quickly. Pieces do not rotate: what you see in the tray is what goes on the board, so a move is decided by where you put it, not by fiddling with it first.

Two ways to play:

DAILY BOARD. Everybody today gets the same pieces in the same order, drawn from the date. That is what makes the leaderboard worth looking at, because a board of scores from randomly dealt runs ranks luck rather than play. Post your score and see what percentage of today's players you beat.

FREE PLAY. Endless, dealt fresh every run, with your personal best kept on your device.

Clear on consecutive turns to build a combo, and a combo multiplies what every clear is worth, so the difference between a good run and a great one is whether you kept the clears coming.
