Contraction Zen

Contraction Zen times your contractions and formats what you enter: duration, interval, regularity, and the starting threshold you set with your midwife.

ONE BUTTON
A single, very large button that becomes the display during the contraction: progress ring, breathing halo, duration in large numbers. The screen remains on during the contraction and for the minutes that follow. When you stop, a simple question about how you're feeling, described by what you can do—"I can speak normally," "I need to concentrate," "I can't speak anymore"—rather than a rating out of ten.

THE TIMELINE
A vertical line, with the most recent contraction at the top. Each step displays the time, duration, how it felt, and the rest period that preceded it. Between two steps, the line displays the interval—the measurement the maternity ward will ask you for over the phone. A small curve accompanies each contraction: its height reflects how it feels, its width its duration. The rhythm can be read at a glance, without comparing numbers.

THE ANALYSIS
Three questions, in the order you ask them.

• Should I go? The 5-1-1 rule (or 4-1-1, or 3-1-1, depending on what your midwife told you) broken down into three gauges: duration, interval, persistence.

• Where am I in labor? An estimated phase of labor based on the median durations and intervals, with regularity making the difference.

• What does the rhythm look like? Duration versus interval against thresholds, frequency per half hour, and a projection of when the threshold would be reached—displayed only when the rhythm really intensifies, never fabricated.

THE HISTORY
The sessions are grouped individually, each with its overview and complete details. Export as text or CSV, to send to your midwife or the maternity ward.

WHAT ZEN CONTRACTION IS NOT
It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, detect labor, or replace medical advice. It formats what you enter and reminds you of the agreed-upon threshold with your healthcare team. If you have any doubts, your water breaks, you experience bleeding, unusual pain, or your baby's movements decrease, call your maternity ward immediately, without waiting for any specific threshold.
