User Reviews

Overall, Frequency Analyzer is easy to use and can be useful for basic frequency measurements in engineering contexts, especially with external gear. However, consistency is a major problem: readings are often inaccurate or vary between trials, and it can misidentify fundamentals (esp. voiced or transient sounds). Visualization is frequently missing or non-functional (no graphs/plotting). Stability is another issue—crashes or not opening on various devices/Android versions. Users also want configurable sampling (interval, smoothing) and a broader/clearer frequency range. When it works, accuracy can be high within certain ranges.
Pros
  • Easy to use.
  • Useful for engineering frequency measurements and identifying pure-tone frequencies.
  • Helpful when using external gear like signal generators or speaker testing.
  • When accurate, high precision in certain frequency ranges.
  • Encourages taking multiple readings to obtain a repeatable value.
Cons
  • Inaccurate or inconsistent readings; misidentification of fundamentals (e.g., confusing peak for fundamental) and octave shifts for voices.
  • Visualization/graphing is often missing or non-functional (no graphs, plotting options, or graphs not shown).
  • Stability issues: crashes or the app not opening on multiple devices/Android versions.
  • Lacks configurable sampling controls (sample interval, smoothing) and other measurement settings.
  • Limited frequency range or occasional misses at higher frequencies.

Used this for ages to measure mechanical frequency. Now says 11098Hz whatever I try to measure.

This is wonderful app. More useful in engineering parlance. Musical notes, voice can hv many modulations. But there are applications where this is very useful. Phone microphone quality, distance can influence results greatly. One need to take 5 to 6 readings and choose the one most repeated. Awesome app.
