FlashTab Firefox

FlashTab

By: Ainga Add-on
5 JavaScript interview flash cards every time you open a new tab. Practice locally — no account needed.

Features & Capabilities

FlashTab turns every new browser tab into a short javascript interview practice session.

Each time you open a new tab, you get 5 JavaScript flash cards — question, hint, answer, then a quick self-rating. Progress and streaks stay on your device. No account. No cloud sync. No distractions.

Who it's for

• Developers preparing for a technical interview who want daily reps without opening another app • Engineers who want to stay sharp between jobs — keep core JavaScript concepts fresh in a few minutes a day • Anyone who prefers spaced practice over cramming the night before

How it works

  1. Open a new tab
  2. Read the question (optional hint)
  3. Reveal the answer
  4. Rate how well you knew it (Again / Hard / Good / Easy)
  5. Finish the set of 5 — your streak updates automatically
FlashTab uses a simple spaced-repetition style schedule so cards you struggle with come back sooner, and cards you know well wait longer.

Privacy

All progress is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage). FlashTab does not collect personal data, does not track browsing, and does not send anything to a server.

Version 1 focuses on JavaScript. More topics may come later.

Is FlashTab Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

FlashTab requires very minimum permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
  • Medium Can alter new tab settings; fairly benign but with some capability to affect user experience.
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

FlashTab is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
