By pressing F2 Text inserter will insert a definable text (options page) at the cursor position. Selected text will be replaced.

The extension also supports dynamic tags to generate parts of the current date/time while inserting the text. Please note that text insertion is compatible with most input elements, but not with dynamically created iframes.
