Amble: Walk Route Planner

Most walking apps show you a directory of trails. Amble does something different: every time you open it, it builds you a new walk that fits the time you've got — 15 minutes, an hour, anywhere in between.

The route prefers footpaths over roads, takes you near parks and waterways when it can, and avoids busy main-road crossings. You'll see three options to choose from. Walk one, save it, or hit "surprise me" and get three completely different ones.

• Bring the dog. Dog Mode adjusts pace estimates by your dog's size and age. Multi-dog households welcome.
• Head Back Now. Mid-walk, weather turns, dog tired? One tap and Amble plots the quickest walkable path home.
• Walking history. Every walk you finish is recorded with stats and a GPS trace. Pin photos to specific moments.
• Elevation aware. See total ascent before you commit. Filter for flat, rolling, or hilly walks.
