Review summary

Battlevoid: Sector Siege is appreciated for its strategic, tactical gameplay and engaging mechanics such as customizable weapons and boarding. However, repeated criticism highlights excessive grinding, limited content and faction variety, and repetitive missions. The game's difficulty scaling is balanced, but RNG elements and unbalanced scenarios impact enjoyment. Players desire deeper storylines, multiplayer modes, and improved interface features. Despite these issues, the game is well-supported by updates, reasonably priced, and offers a rewarding experience for players who enjoy complex space RTS games.
Pros
  • Engaging and fun gameplay with strategic depth and weapon customization.
  • Balanced difficulty scaling that challenges players and encourages tactical play.
  • Inclusion of features like boarding ships and animated turrets adds uniqueness to the gameplay.
  • The game is well-priced and offers good value for its content.
  • Positive reception toward updates and improvements made by the developer, indicating ongoing support.
Cons
  • Game suffers from repetitive and grind-heavy gameplay, with many locked features requiring extensive effort to unlock.
  • Limited depth and content post-campaign, with lack of variety in missions, factions, and weapons.
  • Absence of multiplayer or a diverse campaign mode leading to reduced replayability.
  • Some unbalanced aspects and instances of RNG negatively affecting game experience, including random spawning mechanics.
  • Lack of certain quality-of-life features like ship naming, ship group selection, and better interface control options.

Ya'll did it again. you made something fun 😁 love it. the different weapon combos mean more now, Lazer spam won't work as well as harbinger, since hull damage works differently, they're better on shields. you don't have to chance random weapon drops, you get what you want. you can just unlock it and rock it. I Still like using carrier ships, (better fighter response) so I was happy to see BSE Courage still being used and included (Spam not advised) 😍 I used that to beat Hard mode on Harbinger

Not really enjoyable for me. Glad others seem to like it. Some missions are very unbalanced. On a threat lvl 2 battle against trolgars, I'll get overrun by 5-8 ships completely kitted with rocket turrets and fighters in the first 5 minutes. Not a horrible game, just needs balanced and an RNG fix for the non-stop blackhole/asteroid spawning on your battlestation.
