Facebook Avatar Guard is an open-source browser extension that lets you quickly enable or disable Facebook profile picture guard (shield) with a simple toggle.

What it does

  • Enable profile picture shield (avatar guard) on Facebook
  • Disable the shield anytime
  • Simple popup UI with clear status messages
How to use
  1. Open Facebook on desktop and make sure you are logged in.
  2. Click the extension icon on the toolbar.
  3. Press:
  4. Enable to turn on the shield
  5. Disable to turn it off
  6. Refresh your Facebook profile page to see the changes.
Notes
  • This extension works only on facebook.com.
  • If you see a message like Facebook blocked (429), wait a few minutes and try again.
Privacy
  • The extension runs only on Facebook pages.
  • It does not collect or store your personal data outside your browser.
  • Any needed tokens are read from the currently open Facebook tab to perform the shield toggle request.
