Expense Tracker Budget & Money

Expense Tracker is a simple expense tracker and budget planner for everyday money management. Add what you spend in a few taps, set a monthly budget for each category, and see exactly where your money goes.

It is a money manager built for personal finance rather than accounting, so expense tracking takes seconds instead of minutes. There is no sign-up and no account to create. Your expenses, budgets and categories are saved in a database on your own phone, and you can add, edit and review them with no connection.

TRACK EXPENSES IN SECONDS
Log an expense with the amount, category, note and date. Attach a receipt by taking a photo or picking one from your gallery, and the app reads the receipt and fills in the amount, date and store name for you when the picture is clear enough.

BUDGET PLANNER
Set a monthly budget for any category. Each budget shows what you have spent, what is left and a progress bar, and is marked On Track, At Risk or Exceeded so an overspend is obvious before the month ends. The card at the top totals your budget and your spending and counts the days left in the month, and your budgets are grouped by status with a count for each. Step back through earlier months too.

SPENDING CHARTS
A category breakdown chart shows which categories take the biggest share of this month's spending. Tap a slice, or a row in the list below it, to see that category's amount and the percentage of your total it takes.

FIND ANY TRANSACTION FAST
Transactions are grouped under Today, Yesterday, Last Week and Older. Search your notes or filter by category to pull up an old entry. Swipe a row to edit or delete it, and if you delete the wrong one, undo it right from the confirmation bar. Long-press to select several at once and clear them together.

REPORTS AND EXPORT
Create a monthly PDF report with your total spent, the number of transactions, your daily average, a category table with percentages, your budget status and your ten largest expenses. Export every expense to a CSV file for a spreadsheet, or share a short category summary as text. The report and the summary open the Android share sheet straight away, and the saved CSV can be shared from the bar that appears.

CURRENCIES, CATEGORIES AND THEME
Pick the currency your amounts are shown in: Indian Rupee, US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Australian Dollar or Canadian Dollar. Twelve ready-made categories cover food and dining, transport, shopping, housing, healthcare, education, entertainment, travel, pets, phone and internet, subscriptions and more, and you can add your own with an icon and color you pick. Choose a light, dark or system theme.

PERMISSIONS AND DATA
Internet and network state are used to refresh currency exchange rates, to load ads, and to send usage and crash reports. The Google ads and analytics libraries the app is built on add further entries of their own to the permission list, including access to the advertising ID.
Attaching a receipt hands off to your phone's camera app or photo picker, so the app asks for no camera or storage permission of its own.
Expense Tracker is free and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. Your expense records are not uploaded anywhere, but usage events, including the amount and category of an expense when you add one, plus crash reports, are sent to Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Where consent is required in your region, you can review your ad and privacy choices any time from Settings.
