SERGAS Diabetes

SERGAS Diabetes is an application focused on empowering diabetic patients. The objective is to simplify and facilitate the self-management of the pathology, significantly increasing the patient's capabilities. The application concentrates all the relevant values ​​for the self-control of the disease in a single device, glucose measurements, insulin dose, food intake and physical activity. In the case of dependent people, the app has a caregiver profile that allows the management of the information to be delegated to a third person. The most notable functions of the application are the following:
— Patient management. Management of multiple patients by entering personal data only once.
— Delegated access. Possibility of delegating the management of the app to a caregiver.
— Biomeasurement registration. Register the different values ​​relevant for the self-control of the pathology.
— Viewing the records. Viewing the biomeasurements recorded in configurable graphs that facilitate the patient's understanding of the data.
— Synchronization with devices. Synchronization of the app with glucometers that comply with the continuous standard for automated reading of biomeasurements.
— Notifications. Sending notifications to the patient based on the parameters and biomeasurements recorded in the app.
— Integration with Sergas systems. Integration with different Sergas systems both to read and to upload information.
— Integration with YPSOMED. Integration with the YPSOMED cloud to obtain the values ​​of patients who have a device from the brand.
— Integration with the TELEA Patient app. Access to the TELEA Patient app from the main menu for patients with an active telecare protocol.
— Association news. Access to the different publications on the websites of diabetic associations in Galicia.
— Sites of interest. List of places that may be of interest to the patient based on their location.
— Gamification. Achievement system to encourage use of the app.
— Available in Galician and Spanish. For its correct functioning, the app requires the following permissions:
— Geolocation: The application uses location services to be able to show the sites of interest in the location where the user is.
— Bluetooth: The application uses Bluetooth to communicate with glucometers.
— Storage: Required to read/write information from the application on the device, this information is used as a data cache.
— Camera: The application uses the camera permission to read the barcodes of food products and identify glucose measurement devices.
— Health Connect: Required by the application to calculate BMI (body mass index) calculated from weight and height, a crucial value for monitoring patients with diabetes.
