MixMates Listener

MixMates Listener is the Android companion to MixMates — a service for people who care about the music around them.

Tap a button. The app records a short audio sample, identifies the track, and adds it to your MixMates history. From there you can open it in Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music; share it as text; or send it into a MixMates group so your friends/mates/pals know what you heard.

What you can do
- Identify music playing around you (clubs, bars, friends' houses, anywhere)
- See exactly what's been playing in your personal recognition history
- Share recognised tracks straight into a MixMates group
- Send tracks as plain "Artist - Title" text to anyone, anywhere
- Open recognised tracks in your preferred streaming service
- Receive Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music links shared from other apps and resolve them into MixMates tracks

How sign-in works
Use Sign in with Google for a one-tap experience, or paste a Listen Key from your mixmat.es account if you prefer. Either way, the app talks to mixmat.es over an authenticated, encrypted connection.

What you need
A MixMates Paid+ account on mixmat.es is required to use the recognition features. The Android app is free to install.

About the audio
The app records short audio samples only when you ask it to — there is no continuous listening. Recordings are sent to mixmat.es for fingerprint matching, optionally kept briefly (up to 5 recordings per account, deleted after 30 days), and used for nothing other than identifying what played.
