Hi Gidi,
Wondering if you still maintain this lol
This would be perfect for me, but I keep getting " Unfortunately, the website is refusing to load the content via an iFrame." after I see a 0.5second glimpse of the site (on Gmail btw).
Anyway to fix that?
Gave a little sense of hope but then it kinda dissapointed me in the state it is right now, when I press the trigger button to have the preview it's great, a little big but alright why not, but when I release I do not want to go to the webpage, but it seems to be the current way it works, if you hold the trigger button the page load, but when you release the button it opens up the hovered link. This is not the expected way the addon should behave IMHO, when you hold the trigger button it should show the preview, when you release it, it should end the preview and make you able to continue to scroll. There seems to be a problem when using the escape button as holding the trigger button and then pressing escape button are shortcuts on windows that you do not want to press. Clicking on the escape button in the top right of the screen still opens up the previewed page.
Thanks to the Developer Gidi - this works as advertised. Waiting for the few bugs previously mentioned in the reviews to get fixed.
Gidi- please consider adding two key options to this extension
- activate on hover (with optional time setting to control speed of opening, ex. after 2 secs, etc)
- remember preview window position and size (full size preview opening is ok but should be optional to enable uninterrupted browsing of main page)
To me, the purpose of an extension like this is for convenience-to check a link to see if it has content you actually want to view, ideally without additional clicking / key pressing.
As it is now, there are multiple addtional clicks / key presses required to make that happen vs just directly going to the link:
1-hotkey press and click
2-possible preview window resize
3-possible click to navigate to link/open in popup
4-click / key press to escape out of preview window
As an example, the extension Search Results Previewer is an excellent implementation of this methodology. Its primary limitation is that it only works on google search.
Your effort on GPeeker is definitely appreciated for making the functionality generally applicable.
