What is Chrome Terminal?
Chrome Terminal is a non-official Chrome extension, tailor-made for keyboard heavy users providing a Terminal style interface. It presents a keyboard-focused utility to execute customized commands right from your browser. Aside from its command-line functionality, it also offers hotkeys for accessing top sites and the ability to convert your browser's address bar into a command input box. All data and settings related to the extension are kept locally and are optimized for user privacy. The utility also facilitates easy backup and editing of its data via an exported JSON file.

Summary

IMPORTANT: This is not a Chrome/Google Official extension. A Chrome Extension that offers an interface, with style of Terminal/Command Prompt/Command Line/Power Shell, to execute customized commands. The interface can be accessed in three ways.

======== TARGET AUDIENCE ========

  • Myself
  • Keyboard heavy users: programmers, gamers ...
  • Productivists, who learn for more productivity

======== FUNCTION ========

  • Pop-up, with default hotkey [Alt]+[T], shows a Terminal style interface.
  • Overrides new tab page to a Terminal style interface, with hotkeys to access your top sites.
  • Input [T],[Tab] in address bar(omnibox), then the omnibox will become an inline command input box.

In Terminal style interface / omnibox, you can use text-based command and do whatever you are allowed (limited functionality for now). Use man to see all command available. I personally create a lot of aliases and open website with them.

I still haven't found in what this extension is useful in, especially because I think it's conflicting with another of my extension. But oh boy did I have to rate this 5 stars after reading "Target audience: myself" !! nice
