Features & Capabilities

Knights of San Francisco is a short, immersive RPG text game inspired by modern tabletop role-playing games like Dungeon World. Set centuries after the 21st century, players explore the ruins of ancient San Francisco where goblins, ogres, and dragons roam freely.

This 90-minute adventure puts you in the role of a young necromancer on a thrilling quest. Engage in dynamic, body-part-specific combat with natural language descriptions, make critical choices with meaningful consequences, and explore a living, breathing world with generated content that progresses even without your input. The game emphasizes storytelling over graphics, providing a Dungeon Master-style experience without needing complex tactical maps or tables.

Developed by writer-programmer Filip Hracek and illustrator Alec Webb, this quirky, atmospheric game blends swords & sorcery with a futuristic post-apocalyptic setting for a compelling short adventure.

Pretty decent little game. I emphasize "little" here. The art, such as it is, is good. The storytelling is okay. The gameplay is adequate. As a lifelong San Francisco resident, I think it's a shame how little the designers drew from when creating their mythos. There's the TransAmerican Pyramid, but that's about it. Overall, the game needs a lot more to be anything beyond a glorified demo.

I really struggled with what to rate this. the game itself is very well written immersive and fun, but there's a total of less than 3 hours of gameplay to get all the endings. And there's no replay value really. if this game was longer I wouldn't hesitate! if you have play pass this is worth a download for sure! I wouldn't pay 3 dollars tho for less than 3 hours of entertainment. I do know it's an indie studio so I will cut them a break and give 4 stars. still feels a lil unfinished tho
