en If only this was build with the google search engine. It can only use yahoo search which is a downgrade from google. I've tried sticking with it but yahoo just does not find what I'm looking for, order of results is all messed up and not in popularity ranking, searching for images is just less convenient and gives worse results than google. More of a complaint about yahoo, but I guess Gladly weren't able to integrate the extension with google.

This extension is predatory, do not install it. First, it does not tell that it exclusively works with Yahoo search. If you want Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, or anything else, you're bum out of luck because once you install this addon your search bar is unchangeably set to Yahoo search through Search for a Cause. And yes, you heard me right - you cannot change it back! Not only have I made doubly sure the settings direct the search tab to google, but I have uninstalled and restarted both the browser and my computer... twice! I'm still stuck with garbage Yahoo search! But that's not the end of it, either!! Okay so maybe Yahoo isn't as good as Google, but it's still serviceable, right? Wrong. You are stuck with the default search settings. Want to search for a video? You will be unable to sort by length, date published, or anything like that. Want to search for an image? Not only do you not have reverse image search, you can't sort by size or anything else, either. I am currently HARDSTUCK with a neutered version of the worst search engine, and I have uninstalled this stupid addon and reset everything. This is plainly predatory, dishonest behavior from Gladly. I have been using Tab for a Cause for something like 4 years now, with like over 80,000 points donated before they changed the way it worked. After seeing the philosophy of the company behind this, I'm uninstalling. If you want to donate to charity, your time would literally be better-spent mechnical turking for an hour for sub-minimum-wage pay to just donate that to whatever charity you wanted. Do not give these people the time of day, they are crooks and scheisters who take most of the money generate through ads to pay themselves in the first place. Shame on them for preying on people who only want to help.

Love the concept, but two things significantly impact its usefulness to me: the lack of dark mode, and inability to expand images. I really don't want to visit a website and scroll through if searching for an image every time I want to view one in better detail. I'll revisit this down the road to see if it's been developed further, but right now it's too raw to adopt for daily usage.

I had tab for a cause installed for a long time now and the only thing that's keeping me from having this one enabled is a dark mode. I love the idea but until we get a dark mode, I'll be on the sidelines for now. I don't mind Bing search but I think a lot of people already mentioned that there are other features that Google normally offers which lack here. My only actual dealbreaker currently is dark mode, hoping it will be implemented soon!

On my device it says that search for a cause is inactive, but I can't find a way to activate it. When I click "Activate Extension" it just brings me to the webstore, and there is nothing there. Is it because I am using a chromebook?

Seems to do what it claims to do. A HUGE tip to the devs though, since you are partnered with Yahoo/Bing you.need.to.specify.this in the description of the app. I am sure that it was a bit of an oversite BUT, not doing so lowers your trustworthiness and negatively effects your relationship with your users (as you can see from many comments that users are upset not having the option to use Google because Yahoo/Bing search results are of lower quality than Google). It is always best practice to be up front about such information to maintain high levels of customer/user trust.

Great idea but I don't like the lack of customization options or the fact that it uses yahoo search engine, I had become so used to using the google search engine, I wish it let you choose. Uninstalling until more options are available.

I like the idea behind this, but why can't I adjust the Yahoo Search options? It enforced a different language on me even though I want it set to English.

I love the idea behind it, but I'm not loving the poor search results and the hideous UI. Also a dark theme is always essential for the eyes.
