WheelSafe

WheelSafe is a fall detection and alerting system designed specifically for wheelchair users. This system works as a two-part solution: a Wear OS smartwatch app that detects falls in real-time and a companion phone app that enables key features like sending emergency SMS alerts to your chosen contacts. This app is designed for Wear OS and works in tandem with a companion phone app.

While the smartwatch detects falls using a custom algorithm tailored for wheelchair users, the phone app is required to send SMS messages to your emergency contacts. Without the companion phone app, SMS alerting is not possible.

· DETECT FALLS: WheelSafe utilizes a custom fall-detection algorithm that was created solely for wheelchair users. The app is designed to pair with your smartwatch to enable fall detection both from your chair and during transfers. The algorithm detects falls in real-time and immediately prompts you to alert others for help if needed.

· ALERT CONTACTS: In the event of a fall, WheelSafe is programmed to notify your chosen contacts for assistance, on your own terms. When WheelSafe detects a fall, it prompts you to confirm whether you've fallen. If you select "yes," you can easily notify your chosen contacts. They will receive a text message alerting them of the fall, including the exact date and time. If you don’t respond within 10 seconds, your selected contacts will automatically be alerted for assistance. WheelSafe makes it easy to get help from the people you want it from, all with the click of a button.

· TRACK FALL HISTORY: Seamlessly record important details for any falls you experience with a series of short multiple-choice questions. Fall recording is compatible with voice-to-text. Enable notifications to receive reminders to input any missing data. Conveniently view your fall history in a comprehensive calendar, where you will notice patterns to inform your fall management plan.
