User Reviews

Scripture Citation Index is a highly praised offline, searchable archive of church materials, offering strong search across scriptures, talks, and related texts. Reviewers commend its breadth and usefulness for study and teaching. However, several users report recurring problems with downloading or updating the database, including stalled or paused downloads and failures after updates. Some updates resolve the issue, but overall download reliability appears mixed. When it works, it is an excellent, gem-like resource beyond Gospel Library; reliability depends on download performance.
Pros
  • Offline, readable archive: an extensive offline index containing conference talks since 1942, the JoD, JST, and CJCLDS materials.
  • Powerful search: word/phrase search with cross-references across scriptures, talks, TPJS, JD, and General Conferences.
  • Valuable for study and teaching: helps with Gospel Doctrine lessons and personal study; enhances research.
  • Broad content and accessibility: a hidden gem with a wide range of Church materials at your fingertips.
Cons
  • Repeated database download/update issues (downloads getting stuck, paused, or not downloading after updates) that prevent offline access.

I love this app. It's a great way to expand insights into the scriptures. the new version has been great with one exception. In the settings you can select to have it direct you to gospel library when selecting the reference OR have it stay in the app. I love going to the talk after I have reviewed in the app exactly where the referenced scripture is. The old one would let me do this by making the title of the talk link to gospel library. I really miss that feature but otherwise it's great!
