I was having some trouble making it work in my case, but it works and it is a life savior! If you are getting "Trash is Empty!" when it is actually not, you might have 2 or more workspaces, just like myself. It seems this extension only clears the trash of your main workspace, in other words, the first one in the list when you show the workspaces list from the top-left dropdown. So I just reordered my workspaces so that the one I wanted to clear the trash was at the top, and it worked! Would love to review as 5-star but the trouble of having to figure that out myself was there. Still, the extension works and I love it. Thank you mr. dev ^^
