User Reviews

Users repeatedly flag malware and maintenance concerns as major negatives, while praising the addon’s test-friendly JS on/off per page and domain-specific disabling. Repeat issues include reliability on certain sites, UI visibility problems, and limited handling of offline URLs. Overall, its value for testing is tempered by safety and compatibility concerns.
Pros
  • Per-page JavaScript control for testing (noscript-like testing) on the current page.
  • Domain-based JavaScript disabling capability.
  • General usefulness for testing and debugging sites with JavaScript on/off states.
Cons
  • Contains malware across multiple versions/reviews, raising serious security concerns.
  • Extension appears to have been sold or is not actively maintained, causing trust and update issues.
  • Can cause site breakage or access problems on some sites (e.g., Cloudflare-protected pages) when JavaScript is disabled.
  • UI/UX issues: button visibility problems and a keyboard shortcut that conflicts with others.
  • Offline/file URL pages are not handled, limiting testing scenarios and coverage.

How to enable it for all websites?
by Lu*****, 2026-04-07

This extension was working great but at some point I could no longer access sites that used cloudflare protection with this extension enabled. Obviously it wouldn't work without JavaScript but even after enabling JS on the site in question, it would still fail. Hopefully issue gets fixed.

Is Disable JavaScript Safe?

High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Disable JavaScript requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
