Darusalaam Int School

Darussalam International Academic School is a primary and secondary school located in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was established in 2016 with the objective of enabling children to receive the highest international standard of academics in their motherland. Located in one of the fastest growing areas (Darusalam City) with a heavy Somali diaspora presence, the school enjoys a diversified demographic base. Spanning 9600 square meters, Darusalam International Academic School serves the educational needs of over 1,300 students.

The school has adopted the British IGCSE curriculum and its graduates flourish in society. Along with academics, the school is founded on strong Islamic morals. The holy Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic are part of the curriculum. Students memorize the Quran at a young age and understanding the meaning is emphasized. The boys and girls sections are completely separate and a strict discipline policy is followed. Teaching students about their Somali heritage is essential. Developing a sense of identity and belonging plays an integral role in the development of children. Learning about their culture which is compatible to Islam will strengthen the children’s moral foundation. Students learn about their origins and the legacy of our Somali heroes.

Darusalaam International Academic School is a comprehensive private school with grades from KG–12. The school was established in 2016 and graduated its first senior class in 2017. Darusalaam International Academic School is externally examined by Pearson Edexcel exam board and holds membership in Somalia international academic schools association.
