The UI is a bit complex at first but once you learn it, this is probably the best alternative to stock gallery apps.

I love that you can tag photos and videos like virtual albums (similar to google photos) offline without having to duplicate them in several folders, but I give it 4 stars because it has some issues handling and tagging some MP4 videos and I have to re-edit them or compress them.

If you want a between experience this is the app for you. Videos will freeze and if you skip ahead you will need to force close the app in order to continue watching. Terrible at organizing your photos. essentially photos are always piled into one folder even if you've moved them into another folder. If you delete from the main folder it will delete photos across all folders. so you can't organize according and remove redundancies. This app is clearly still being developed and needs work.
