Präventi Plaque App

The app is used as part of a clinical randomized study in the field of cardiology and angiology at the University Hospital Essen. The app links the visual display of your own carotid plaque findings (ultrasound image) and the medically recorded data on cholesterol, blood pressure and weight with the most important target areas for improving a healthy lifestyle, such as exercise, drinking / eating, taking medication and smoking. The app is intended to help patients in a simple way to lead a healthy lifestyle and to implement the recommendations of their treating physicians in a sustainable manner in everyday life.

The app will initially be available to patients for the duration of the study (12 months). Patients have the opportunity to give feedback on the app and receive additional support through regular medical examinations and assistance with their therapy.

Target group of the app: Patients aged 18 and over with an existing artherosclerotic disease can participate.
