PULSE – Mobile Research Platform for Scientific Studies

PULSE is the mobile research platform of 2CHuB GmbH for universities and research institutions. The app is used exclusively within the framework of specific research projects to which you have been invited by a study director. It is not a general health, fitness, or tracking app, nor is it a medical device.

Why this research is important

Mental well-being is closely linked to everyday behavior, exercise, sleep, and social interactions. How exactly these factors interact in daily life is still poorly understood scientifically.

The research projects on PULSE aim to contribute to a better understanding of these connections in everyday life and to establish a scientific foundation for public health research.

What the app does

PULSE combines short, everyday surveys (experience sampling) with objective sensor and health data – depending on the specific research project and only with your explicit consent.

This creates a realistic picture of how behavior and physical states relate to psychological well-being in everyday life—insights that are only possible to a limited extent in traditional laboratory studies.

Use of the Accessibility API (Accessibility Service)

For selected research projects investigating communication behavior, PULSE uses the Android Accessibility Service to collect exclusively anonymized typing metrics. Data collection only begins after your explicit consent during study onboarding and can be deactivated at any time via the Android Accessibility settings.

These metrics allow researchers to statistically correlate digital communication patterns in everyday life with reported well-being—exclusively for research purposes.

The data will not be shared with advertising networks, sold, or used for commercial purposes.

You can withdraw from the study at any time without penalty and request the deletion of your data.
