FIDELIO

FIDELIO is an advanced Android application designed for experienced users and developers to securely use the German national ID card (Personalausweis) for online identification and authentication. Unlike the AusweisApp2, FIDELIO integrates the FIDO U2F authentication protocol, offering strong, phishing-resistant login capabilities without transmitting personal data like name or birthdate.

The app supports NFC-enabled devices and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tokens, facilitating use with websites compatible with FIDO U2F via Chrome or Firefox (with an appropriate plugin).
