SenseTap

With SenseTap, we aim to help people who are blind or visually impaired make their daily lives safer, easier, and more independent. The app is accessible and allows users to clearly identify objects by labelling special NFC tags - known as SenseTap tags - with specific information. The information can be read with an NFC-enabled smartphone.

For example, you can save information such as the name and best-by date of a spice, the appearance of a T-shirt, the meaning of a sign in a building, and much more. With just one scan of the SenseTap tag using your smartphone, the saved information is automatically read aloud.

All saved NFC tags can be clearly organized into predefined categories in the SenseTap app. The currently available categories include edible, medicine, care products, and clothing.

To get support from friends or family members when facing difficulties, there is a built-in helper feature. To use it, you share an invitation link that allows helpers to connect to your account. This requires that the helpers also have the SenseTap app installed.

Helpers can edit the stored NFC tags and assist with maintaining the content. Alternatively, you can request help specifically for a single NFC tag, so that only that tag is shared with a particular person.

Each SenseTap tag can be customized with any information you choose. All content can be edited and updated at any time. The app can be set to German or English.
