homeESS Smarthome Remote

With homeESS, you can conveniently control and monitor your smart home from your Android smartphone or tablet – at home on your local network or on the go via the optional remote access.

The app connects to your self-operated homeESS installation and makes its user interface available for mobile devices. This allows you to check device statuses, control appliances, and keep track of your home's energy flows.

## Control your smart home conveniently

Access the devices, switching functions, and overviews configured in homeESS from your smartphone. The display is optimized for mobile devices and enables quick operation without a desktop browser.

Depending on your homeESS installation configuration, you can, among other things:

• Switch devices and appliances on and off
• View current statuses and measurements
• Monitor energy consumption and energy flows
• Keep an eye on your photovoltaic system and battery storage
• Control automations and controllable appliances
• Use individual homeESS dashboards

The actual available functions depend on your homeESS installation and the devices and adapters configured within it.


## Local Connection

In local mode, the app connects directly to your homeESS installation on your home network.

This connection is particularly suitable for:

• permanently installed wall tablets
• use within your home network
• access via your own VPN
• fully self-managed installations

Local use of the app is free.

## Optional Remote Access

With optional homeESS remote access, you can also access your installation from outside your home network.

The connection is established via the homeESS relay service. This ensures that access is maintained even when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, without you having to set up a VPN connection or publicly share your home network.

Remote access is planned as a paid add-on feature and will be offered via Google Play. The price, subscription duration, and terms and conditions will be displayed directly in the app before you subscribe.

## Data Privacy and Control

homeESS is designed for data-efficient operation.

When used locally, the app communicates directly with your homeESS installation. The optional remote access transmits the data required for operation via encrypted connections.

The app contains no advertising and does not use any advertising networks.

## Requirements

A connected homeESS installation is required for use. The app is not a standalone, universal smart home hub and does not connect directly to any device or manufacturer's system.
