User Reviews

JBL ProScan shows potential with a useful concept and decent readings when it works. Some users are generally happy and appreciate the ability to track measurements. However, persistent reliability and usability problems—especially inaccurate or inconsistent results, frequent crashes or blank screens, and login/data-saving issues—significantly hinder adoption. Additional pain points include device compatibility/installation hurdles, weaknesses in image capture and strip detection, and limited accessibility (e.g., no longer able to buy strips). Users want features like gallery import, per-aquarium notes, and auto-logging. Overall, reliability and UI issues undermine the app’s value.
Pros
  • Promising concept that aims to simplify monitoring aquarium water with digital strip analysis.
  • When it works, it provides good readings.
  • Ability to log measurements and track history (with potential notes per aquarium).
  • Some users report being generally happy and finding value in the app over months.
Cons
  • Inaccurate or inconsistent readings across tests (e.g., different outputs for the same water).
  • App instability: crashes, blank screens, and occasional failures to open.
  • Login and data-saving issues: mandatory login, repeated logins, and not saving results.
  • Image capture and strip detection problems: camera struggles to detect test strips, cannot capture photos, and alignment prompts (center) cause errors.
  • Compatibility/availability issues: Play Store blocks installation on some devices and some devices report not compatible; stock/availability issues for test strips.

useless for Pro Aquatest strip test because it doesn't correctly recognize the tested values

You should make an option to import photos from gallery to analize water!

Its a complete waste of money and time. I did 3 tests for one of my tanks to see how accurate they are and the first test basically said that all 9f my fish will die immediately while the second said that everything is perfect and the third told me that I have chlorine in my water wich is impossible bc I used chlorine free water to fill it up. You could just burn your money tbh. Would have the same outcome: you dont know if your water is fine and your money is gone.
