The complete configuration (incl. installation of clients) is done by the setup tool, which you can download from our website https://www.just-a-simple-cloud.com/download-software/.

Attention: This app will sync your data as a background process.
In order to do so, the app must be excluded from the batterie optimasation. Otherwise, Android will terminate the sync automatically.
You will be guided for this setting during the first run of the app, maybe manual adjustments will be necessary.
If you encounter, that the sync will (no longer) work, please check, if batterie optimasation is still disabled for this app.

Why do we need the permissions:
- INTERNET: access to the internet in order to sync your files
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: automatically start the app in background, once Android gets started
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: access to the storage to store your data there
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: see above
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: de-activating Android power management, otherwise the app will not be able to do a sync in background

Deviations to the Windows client:
- max. 10 projects in parallel
- no filters for folders or files

Some special notes for Android 11 and later:
- Beginning with Android 11, the access rights for folders on the flash was changed. The files will be stored in an app internal folder. You can access the files with the "checkout" / "checkin buttons". Additionally, you can manually add / delete files.
- On smartphones from special manufactores, you will need to enable automatic launch here: Settings -> Battery -> Auto launch management -> App auto launch

Notes:
- In case of communication failures, the connection may break and the server remains in a connected state. This will heal itself.
