The ha-pen app, belonging to the research project HAPpEN (family doctor-centered obesity prevention program: Exercise & Nutrition) serves as digital therapy support, for recording and documenting nutrition and exercise behavior during obesity prevention and therapy. Important vital parameters, individual exercise and nutritional goals should be stored by the patients and doctors in a diary, whereby the successes and challenges in obesity care become apparent and the therapy can be adapted accordingly to the personal circumstances. In addition, the app provides access to various learning and training units that support users in achieving their goals.
The main goal of HAPpEN is to motivate endangered patients to change their lifestyle and eating habits, accompanied by their trusted general practitioner as the central contact person for obesity prevention and therapy. At the same time, the app provides social, practical and everyday contact and exchange opportunities as well as information and instructions for the targeted implementation of the measures. Through ongoing surveys on acceptance, the inhibiting and supporting factors in dealing with digital media, social media usage practices and personal, supportive social networks, the patients also help shape the therapy in a participatory manner.
The HAPpEN care concept and the associated app are based on current scientific findings and guidelines on obesity care. We pay attention to the highest possible usability. We regularly test the technical components and continuously optimize our systems and the operating concept. A prerequisite for using the app is the recommendation of a family doctor as part of obesity care. Against the background of individual preferences and living conditions, the medical care within the research project is based on the current guideline recommendations, which are supplemented by a digital follow-up (hap-pen app), socio-psychological components and social interaction options.
The telemedicine platform Curafida, on which the ha-pen app is based, is certified as a CE-certified class I medical device according to the Medical Device Directive (MDD).

Please make sure you use additional reminders, including for your tasks, exercises, and medication. Important information about your diagnosis and treatment can be found in the documents and websites that your doctors and therapists have explicitly provided for you.
Important note: As part of the HAPpEN project, this app supports patients in order to transfer their recorded telemedical data to the eHealth platform. We expressly point out that the use of the app in no way replaces regular consultation and treatment by a doctor or therapist and that the use of this app should be coordinated with your family doctor.
