User Reviews
Pros
- Feature-rich and powerful OpenStreetMap editor suitable for both beginners and advanced users.
- Good for editing on the go, including adding points, paths, and GPS tracking.
- Lightweight app that works on lower-end devices and tablets, with active development and responsive developers.
- Includes useful features like presets, address autocompletion, and the ability to add geolocated photos.
- Offers comparable functionality to desktop editors, with some features more convenient on mobile than desktop.
Cons
- Steep learning curve; interface can be clunky and unintuitive at first, lacking built-in tutorials.
- Performance issues such as slow response, crashes during loading, and slow map panning/zooming reported especially in recent versions.
- Problems with OAuth login (e.g., Google login not supported) and lack of proper help with authentication failures.
- File import issues, including lack of storage permission requests and no good file picker delegation.
- User interface problems such as overlapping soft buttons on Android and difficulty activating satellite mode.
Recent reviews
Vespucci is a great tool to add data to OpenStreetMap (OSM). It conveniently maintains your commonly used points and way types and pulls from close by data to offer suggestions along the way. The app is feature-rich and flexible. It also is lightweight for people who have limited mobile/cellular data. Beginners, advanced contributors to open source projects and cartographers all will find the app to be straightforward. Happy mapping!

If you want to seriously edit OpenStreetMap while you're out and about, Vespucci is the way to go. You can add, remove, and modify just about any paths or structures on the map, trace paths using your phone’s GPS and either add them through the app or upload them to use another tool. It uses a lock/unlock system so you don’t make changes accidentally, and you can place geolocated photos on the map to help you position features. That said, there is a steep learning curve when you start out!
