The Digital ID Service is a smart on-the-spot solution for identifying people with the German ID card, electronic residence permit or foreign passport. The Digital ID Service enables fast and fully digital customer identification on-site in minutes. In stores or at the point of sale, with the service and the electronic identity card, the data of the identity card or the electronic residence permit can be read directly via NFC-enabled smartphone. In addition, additional data may be collected, such as digital photocopies of the card, other documents or signature samples. Personal data and digital ID copies from the front and back of the ID card can be read out and made in less than a minute. In addition, an authenticity check of the identity card or electronic residence permit automatically takes place when reading out via the NFC interface.
