AnS-Assistent für Zugführer

The AnS Assistant for Train Drivers is a professional Android app for use by train drivers (Zf) and other train crew on smartphones and tablets. It offers targeted support in ensuring connections and automatically informs about connection situations (AnS) without distracting from train operations.

The app has two operating modes:

🚆 Journey Mode
In Journey Mode, relevant AnS information is automatically provided via notification and sound – without the Zf having to actively intervene or look at the display. This mode is specifically optimized for use during travel, runs in the background, and can be activated automatically or manually.

📋 Info Mode
In Info Mode, train drivers can select and display specific journeys and connections. The selection is made either by specifying a stop and operator – with current journeys suggested directly – or by manually entering a train number. After selecting a journey, the app displays the detailed journey route with planned and forecast times. Intersections with relevant connection situations are highlighted. During a journey, the app automatically displays the station corresponding to the current section.

🔁 Flexible switching between modes
Switching between information and travel mode is possible at any time – quickly, intuitively, and tailored to operational practice.

📍 Location tracking for precise information
After each stop at a relevant intersection, the app automatically determines the current connection status and informs the Zf without any further action. It uses precise location data to correctly classify the current journey.

The AnS Assistant was developed for use in rail transport and is a tool for improving information quality and customer orientation – reliable, user-friendly, and focused on the essentials.
