Print for Blackbaud Altru enables you to complete an entire sales workflow in Altru from one workstation using Google Chrome. As you complete sales orders, you can open the cash drawer and print sales documents such as receipts and tickets.
Notes and Considerations:
To set up a new workstation, note that you also need to complete all other setup steps from the checklist under Tickets, Print Setup in Altru.
If Altru users share a machine but have their own Windows profiles/logins, the browser extension needs to be installed for each user’s Windows profile.
Only Windows machines are supported at this time.

This plugin and the other required workstation interface would never have been needed had Blackbaud actually handled receipt and ticket printing in a modern way by sending the job to be handled by the browser or system. Most people are fine with e-receipts, so automatic printing is a relic of the past. Let the user decide when and where to print to per transaction. This middleware is a kludge.
The extension was a life-saver for our move from IE to Chrome on our POS stations using Altru.
BUT WAIT! on 12/5/18 the latest version of Chrome (71.0.3578.80) is no longer compatible with this extension! The Workstation Interface in Altru is no longer loaded and displays an error that the extension is not compatible with this version of the browser. Because of this our ticket and receipt printers do not work the cash drawer does not operate (it's controlled through the Epson receipt printer). I contacted Blackbaud support but I have not heard anything back from them regarding this error. I downgraded Chrome to the last known working version (70.0.3538.110) and this solved the problem with the printers. I've had to disable Chrome updates until the extension is fixed, which could expose my system to potential vulnerabilities.
When the extension works, it's great. But currently it's broken and until Blackbaud or Google get their act together, it's not a solution.
