'ao3 saver' is a Chrome extension that backs up AO3 works, enabling uninterrupted access even when they're taken down. When a user starts reading an AO3 work, it is automatically saved as a PDF to ao3 saver servers. It also records the history of each work visited for easy future access. The storage is private and localised, with only the PDFs stored on the server without any personal attachment. The extension assures server support for the foreseeable future.

Automatically backup ao3 works so you never lose what you're reading again. When you start reading an ao3 work, ao3 saver servers will automatically back up the work you're reading. If the story ever goes down, the 404 page you're met with will have a button to take you right to the backup stored on the ao3 saver server.
The ao3 menu assists in finding lost works by keeping a history of each work you've visited. You can search and find a deleted work your previously viewed with this extension with ease.
No data on what you view is kept on anything but your local device. Nothing the server stores is attached to you.

I'm planning on keeping the servers up for this extension and continue support for it for years into the future.

hi! ive been using this extension for well over a year and a half now, and it has been working great. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my computer, but today I checked the extension and saw that ALL of the backed up fics that I had saved were gone. Just a big blank space, all missing. I tested out just now and new works are saving just fine, but everything from the past year is gone :( I have been using the same computer since then. Is there someway to recover them? And if not, is there a way to prevent the extension from resetting in the future?? Thanks!
I love it, especially when it's able to archive works that are so big that using AO3's regular download options don't seem to work (as in, overwhelming to the system)! <3 Though I would also love it if the archiving wasn't solely done in HTML format, I hope there's a way to include PDF too.
What a fantastic idea for an extension! I haven't truly needed any of the backups yet, but I did confirm they're available, and it brings me peace of mind to know they exist. The 404 page with quick links to search on both ao3 saver and archive.org is another nice touch. I really appreciate the developer's generosity in providing this extension (and its server space) for free.
