Dark Background Anti-Flash reduces sudden white flashes on bright pages by using a temporary dark overlay that fades out smoothly. We also have optional CSS background darkening to force dark theme on pages that do not have it.

Install

Features & Capabilities

Install add-on on Firefox desktop.
Open a new tab and confirm dark background.
Open a bright website (for example a white-background page) and confirm dark preload + smooth transition.
In Options, enable bright-site override and set custom color; reload the same site and confirm override.
Add a hostname to “Always force custom color” and confirm it always uses the custom color.
Add a hostname to exclusions and confirm the add-on skips that site.
