Cedulka: Gluten & Allergens

Cedulka reads a product's barcode and shows you what the manufacturer declares about it — starting with gluten for celiacs.

Built originally for the developer's celiac daughter, the app focuses on the question celiac and allergic users actually ask first: "What is in this?"

WHAT IT DOES
• Scan any food barcode with your camera.
• See a clear summary of the declared gluten content: Gluten-free, Contains gluten, May contain traces, or Unknown.
• Highlights the 14 EU allergens you've added to your profile (milk, nuts, soy, sesame, eggs, …).
• Shows full ingredient list, product photo, and brand info pulled from the open Open Food Facts database.
• Photograph a restaurant menu and get a per-dish reading of the declared ingredients.
• Add a missing product by photographing the package — the app reads the label for you.
• Keeps a scan history so you can revisit results later.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
Most allergen apps make you read a long ingredient list and work it out yourself. Cedulka summarises the declared composition up front, with conservative logic — when the data is incomplete it says so rather than guessing, because a missing warning matters more than a false alarm.

YOUR DATA
Your allergen profile and scan history live on your phone. An account is optional: create one and your allergen profile syncs across devices, and you can export or delete everything you've stored at any time. No advertising, no tracking.

OPEN DATA
Product information comes from Open Food Facts, a community-maintained open database published under the ODbL licence. If you spot wrong data, you can fix it for everyone — see openfoodfacts.org.

CURRENT LIMITATIONS
• Czech and English only at launch.
